MH-60G Pave Hawk
(Academy - Nr. 2201)
Academy started the year 2006 with the release of the MH-60G Pave Hawks in scale 1/35. The Pave Hawks are used for combat rescue and Special Operations support missions (CSAR) by the United States Air Force (USAF). As the original the Academy Pave Hawk is also based on their "standard" UH-60 Black Hawk that was released earlier.
As the orginal release, the quality of the kit is high but it has its flaws. The kit contains one new light gray sprue with the parts to create this specific US Air Force version. It includes the telescopic refueling probe allowing it for long range operations, the APQ-174 terrain-following radar and a FLIR both mounted on the nose, horizontal stabilizers, a rescue hoist, 2 gun ports with 7.62mm miniguns and a large fuel canister located in the rear cabin.
The decalsheet includes maintenance stencils and markings for two Pave Hawks in the standard USAF 3 tone scheme. In addition you get extra numbers to create a unique MH-60G of your choice.
The aftermarket companies didn't neglect this one, Cobra Company has several resin detail set to make big improvements and Eduard has an interior and exterior photoetched detail set.
A very nice kit!
