Mc Donnel Douglas AH-64 Apache
(Revell - Nr. 4575)
The two fuselage-sprues are sealed together in one plastic bag, the other three brown sprues are together in another plastic bag and the clear sprue even got it's own.
The construction manual shows in 33 steps how to build this model. The drawings in the manual are easy to understand. The last step shows the decal placement, where you can choose between two different Helicopters of the US Army that are unspecified. The colors are only listed in Revell color system, no RAL or FS codes.
The detailing of the Revell kit looks quite nice, it has got raised details and rivets, in this scale it looks very authentic (in my opinion). Some release markers has to be removed/reworked otherwise they will be visible later. Moulding seems to be old, so there is a lot of flash on it. The kit contains a pilot and a gunner as two different figures.
I can't say anything about the represented version of this Apache-kit, but I think we got some Apache-specialists here on scale-rotors, so you can tell more about the accuracy and the shown version!
The price of this kit was about 70,-DM a long time ago, actually, with a bit of luck you can get one for about 20-30€ at ebay.
On the whole a quite nice and big kit (rotor-diameter about 46 cm / 18 inch), I look forward to build it! Has anyone built it before and can tell us about the fit/accuracy of the kit?
Here are some pictures with extra details:
