AH-1W Super Cobra NTS

The Academy AH-1W Super Cobra NTS kit was built with the Verlinden update kit, which I feel makes a big difference in the end result. I'm going to talk about the kit itself a bit because there are things that should be said. The decals on the kit donít stick so once the water dries they just fall off, you must seal them on. The cockpit glass has a mold line that you canít really remove. The kit has many injection points that will drive you mad at times. The detail on the body is nice, but the cockpit is very weak, and hence the need for the Verlinden kit. If you want it look realistic there will also be a need for some scratch building too. The kit was fun to build, but only because I was co-building it with a friend at the same time, we both made a Cobra. The kit can turnout to be something very beautiful. Lots of little details, nice proportions on the helicopterís body, and a relaxing Marineís gray camouflage. Build time was over a month, with two work times a week put in. After scaling these rotors down I had to take some time to the share the pictures with the site that helped serve as reference for the build. Iím looking forward to hearing comments from fellow builders too!
