If you want to build a correct Hkp 10 out of Italeri's "new" AS 532, you need at least Eduard's photo-etch set, even if only for the filters in front of the air inlets. How an only remotely correct representation of these parts shall be made from the kit's glass cones is beyond me.
Thanks to Bob Rowles, I had quite a few photos of the interior, so the open side door on my model doesn't show an empty void. NB: many 1/72 chopper's pilots' seats look as if the original is a canvas-covered tube structure, whereas in reality, they are quite comfy, which makes sense, as your highly-trained heli-driver should not be unfit for duty because of hemorrhoids.
The decals are quite a disappointment........ The Tre Kronor national insignia are not centred, which reminds me of Heller's old Swedish kits, but this was nearly 30 years ago. The main markings are correct, but remember there were some changes during Hkp10's service, e.g. "Försvarsmakten" did replace "Flygvapnet".
No photos of Hkp 10s did show triangular rotor blade extensions, so off they came. Detailing of antennae and alike has to be done according to photos; for the washing-line arial on the tail I did use wire and elastic thread - the kit parts are far too thick. Not all Hkp 10s sported the search-light under the rear, but as I had the photos, I had to build it.
Conclusion: no relaxation model and not for the faint-hearted........
