SA 341D Gazelle HT.3
by Felix Troschier (1:72 Airfix)
This is the SA-341D Gazelle HT.3 in scale 1/72 based on the Airfix kit with some minor modifications and kit decals.
I'd liked to see the rather poor engine air intake covered with some weather protection covers. They were made from pocket tissue and white glue. The rotor blade rigging was made from wire. The "thing" on the starboard skid strut is something from my spares box. I used the Extratech etched fret as far as I could for the interior as well as masking tape for the seatbelts and sanding paper for the "sheepskin- cushion". The rotorhead got some modifications as the provided kit part seems far too big and misses any control rods. Humbrol and Revell paints were used.
Despite its age - my father already built it - the kit is always a pleasure.
