Westland Gazelle AH.1
by seavixenxj494 (1:72 Airfix)
Here is my Westland Gazelle AH.1 in scale 1/72. The kit is from Airfix and it represents a Royal Marines Gazelle during the Falklands war.
The model was built from the box except for the cockpit which was scratchbuilt using plastic card and brush hair for the wires and Tamiya tape for the straps. I replaced the rear driveshaft with a scratch one, also the fuselage received a mounting rail made from 72nd scale missile heads. The floats were used from a Wasp conversion kit as I did not use them on my Westland Wasp. Finally the front antennas were added with a piece of bent fusewire and brush hair was used for the aerial. The model was painted using Revell 65 green.
