Bell UH-1B Huey

by Derek Derks (1:48 Monogram)

Bell UH-1B Huey

The Bell Huey was in production from 1962 until 1976. Over 10.000 were produced. Nearly 7000 found their way to Vietnam. More than 2200 Huey pilots lost their lives and over 2500 helicopters were lost. Half of this number in battle and half due to operational reasons.

Besides all of this, different types of Hueys are still roaming the skies of the world.

1/48 Monogram Bell UH-1B Huey

The Monogram model has been built straight from the box.

The odd paint colors on the top of the rotor and stabilizer blades are for recognition purposes, when down on the ground it made it easy to confirm findings and rescue by searching loitering friendly aircraft.

The decals are from Super-Scale and the revetment, drums, boxes, ammo and figures are from Verlinden.
