Bell UH-1B Hueyby StephenS (1:24 Monogram)This is the Bell UH-1B Huey from Monogram in scale 1/24. The model is a fictional depection of a Huey used by the NSW Rural Fire Service (I am a volunteer firefighter in the RFS ). I made the belly tank and the FLIR/ thermal imaging camera pod under the port side. I lengthened the legs of the landing skids and added a step to them. A rappelling point and frame is installed on the port side roof of the rear cabin. Wire cutters are fitted to the upper and lower of the nose. The original armored seats have been replaced with a pair of buckets from Kit Form Services. The pickup hose and strainer are Revell. I produced the decals using Adobe Illustrator on Microscale film. The exterior is finished in Tamiya Bright Orange and Pure White. The interior is finished in Model Master FS16473 Aircraft Gray. Helitack 234 would be used for water bombing, observation and insertion/ extraction of RAFT (Remote Area Firefighting Team) personnel. StephenS Published on 19.
